PRESS RELEASE
Last year Kimberly Ireland filed a federal lawsuit and in 2007 she filed a judicial complaint against Judge Kevin P. Moriarty based on the allegation that “he appeared to be masturbating” in court during a mediation in her divorcecase. This past week Judge Moriarty settled a law suit against Ms. Ireland for making these false allegations about him. The specific terms of the settlement are confidential.
Ms. Ireland’s assertions against Judge Moriarty and the resulting media attention were humiliating and caused a great deal of embarrassment and ridicule for Judge Moriarty and his family.
Ms. Ireland regrets the untrue statements made and the embarrassment that they caused. She has previously admitted that she was mistaken and the claims were untrue. She made the statements at a time when she was under a great deal of duress related to a contentious divorce and is trying her best to make amends. For any party that is continuing to report these allegations, both Kimberly Ireland and Judge Moriarty would request that the allegations be removed or deleted from further publication.
